Happy Sunday friends !
I am happy to report it's day 12 after surgery and everything is doing great . Getting better every day . So very Thankful.
The photo above was taken yesterday after a awesome shower which those are getting easier each time too ( Praise God !)
Hubby still needs to help me in and out BUT standing is getting better and I seem stronger .
This past week our neighbors and friends brought over dinners . My Mom was here this past week . Seen the visiting nurse twice and we are thinking this upcoming Wednesday maybe her last visit since we both agree I am doing really good .
This past Wednesday the bruises on my hip and butt started to show up and even though we couldn't see them the week after surgry I sure could feel them every time I sat down.
This surgery I must say was totally different from my knees alot easier and also I had NO anesthesia instead I had a Epidural and I think that was so much better. After surgery I was alert and actually hungry PLUS no yucky tube going down my throat.
I keep trying to walk with a cane and as of today it's just not happening yet ! I have this thought that once I can start using the cane I will be able to get down stairs to my Stampin Studio . I have to keep saying to myself it has only been 12 days .
Sleeping is getting much better as well and walking too . We have had to make the walker higher 2 times since being home .. How is that even possible ? Did I grow a couple inches IDK.
My new hip seems to have made my right leg a slight bit longer but the doctor says It will get better in a few weeks ...I personally think I have been walking with my bad hip and the limping for so long I just have to get use to my new hip Plus I have to give it time to settle in .
It's amazing there is only a 5 1/2" incision when I see what he took out and put in ~ Holy moly ~ Just amazing !
BIG hugs to my amazing hubby he has been though so much with my surgery and then the 1st day home our water heater started leaking water in the basement .
Praise God he found it before water went into the classroom and my new studio WHEW! but that meant he was going to buy a new water heater and put it in PLUS this past Friday his truck AC idler pulley and fan control resistor /relay pack went out and that needed to be replaced.
Then yesterday he wrapped our boat for the winter . Okay so lets just Pray nothing else needs to be fixed for awhile .
Thank you all for your sweet cards you have sent me over the last couple weeks . You all are so SWEET! So many smiles in my mail box ~Thank you from the bottom of my heart . I will try & get those all posted soon .
This past week I recieved the Founder Circle swaps I had my friend Sharon swap for me . Thank you Sharon !
The swaps are amazing as usual and really wouldn't expect anything less from the top Demonstrators in the company . This year Founder Circle Theme is Home for the Holidays and our swaps had to use items from the Holiday catalog HERE .
There are so many Christmas / Thanksgiving/ Halloween swaps I love them all . I will share them with you soon.
I also got a BIG box from Stampin'Up! which had all the pillow gifts from Founders Circle . So excited to open that box too and see all the beautiful things . Thank you Stampin'Up!

Here is a fun Christmas card I made using the Santa Stache stamp set... It's so cute!
This stamp set is in the Holiday catalog HERE.
I also had fun using the Blendabilities to color in the Stache Nutcracker .... PLus I got to use the fun new Mustache Framelit # 133741.
Check out all the sparkle . I used the Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details # 125585 as well as the Gold Glitz Dazzling Details # 133755.
Plus look I finished the inside too ~ Don't fall out of your chair LOL!
I used the new Trim a Tree designer paper stack # 135824 on page 7 in the holiday catalog .
So many pretty designs in the stack Plus the designer paper is double sided ~gotta love that .

Hi Stampers,
Jessie here! Checking in to give you guys an update on my hip mom. For those of you that don't know, she had her right hip replaced this past Tuesday. She got to the hospital at 11:15am, with her adorable hospital bag at hand. Pre-op started right away, where they prepped her with two IV's... one in each hand.
Surgery was scheduled for 1pm, but ended up starting at 1:30. Afterwards, she was in recovery for about 2 hours, due to the fact that they couldnt find her a empty room. She lucked out, and got what they called the "Penthouse suite", and got a room to herself on the 9th floor.
Around 5pm, we we're allowed to go up and see her. She was awake, talkative, and they had her rolling from side to side like nothing had even happened. About a half an hour later, the nurse came in and told her she should order dinner. She was so hungry, she ordered soup, salad, chicken strips, potatoes, a cookie and ice cream.
By 9pm, they had her up and walking.
Wednesday morning was the start of a new day. It was her first day of therapy, she had occupational therapy as well as physical therapy. She got her IV tube and catheter removed, and said it was so much easier to move around without them.
The X-ray technicians came into her room with their machines to take pictures of her pretty new hip. They removed the bandage from her 5 1/2 inch inscion, (click HERE to view the inscion, its not bad! Trust me, it just looks like a cut!) which is held together with stitches and glue instead of staples! Now from half way past her knee up to her pelvis is all Bionic. So now please refer to my Hip Mom as Bionic Woman. LOL ;)
Thursday was finally here, and it was the day she got to go home!!!! She still had to do both of her therapy sessions, and take a full shower before she could leave. Dad picked her up at the front doors in his truck around 2:30. She said getting in wasn't as bad as the bumpy ride home.
Friday was her first full day of being home. Her visiting nurse Amy, came to see her and said everyting looked great. She will be visiting twice a week for the firt two weeks, then once a week for the following two weeks. Follow up with Dr Hubers is in 3 weeks.
For the next 6-8 weeks, shes not allowed to cross her legs, bend more than 90*, or twist her upper body to ensure her hip stays in place.
Yesterday Pat and I went to visit. Pat went with Dad to the lake to help him with the boat, and I hung out with my Hip mom. She's getting around very well on her own, and can walk pretty quickly with her walker. She took a shower at home for the first time since the hospital, and said it was a long process.
We watched HGTV, and took selfies.
Over all, shes doing fantastic, and is feeling better everyday.
Thank you to everyone who wrote encouraging things to her, sent her flowers, cards, and gifts. She will be back to 110% in no time! :)

This card looks like illusion to me, but really all I did was stamp the center of the card with the leaf and the dots from the
Kinda Eclectic stamp set
I also used the Square framelits#130921 and and Big shot #113439 and cut out the center and layered it onto the next size up in the square framelit to cover the cut out LOL~ Pretty clever huh?
Then I just decorated the front with the Elegant Butterfly punch# 127526 .
The greeting is from Choose Happiness

Well we are counting the hours now until I will get my new hip . This upcoming Tuesday at 1:00pm I will be going into surgery to get my hip replacement done .
Thank you all for your encouragement on Face book and emailing me . You all are the BEST!
I am really ready to get this done . I am so happy I didn't wait any longer .
Later this afternoon we are spraying some insulation in the attic. This should be another one of those adventures that needs to be documented with photos I am sure LOL! ~stay tuned .

We were waiting to do the judging for when we would go pick up his bike BUT his motorcycle is staying in the shop for awhile longer and we thought we had better do it before I go into surgery, so last night we met up with Ernie and he judged the cards.
We had around 10 cards submitted. Thank you so much for sending ABC Harley Davidson your beautiful cards . I know it made them excited to check the mail every day .
The judging was hard to narrow it down to only 1 so we made a team hoka hey decision with 1 grand prize plus a 2 way tie for runner up .

Yesterday we took a Harley ride to see Jessie and Pat got to spend the evening with them and the doggies . Bao is 1 year old now and he is so big and so strong look how cute he is.
Jessie cut my hair and we then went to dinner . Jessie also found this Big Daddy sign how perfect! LOVE IT!
Happy to report I ended up finishing my Founders Circle swaps all 113 of them and they are on their way to my friend Sharon's home.
Update : When I filmed my Founders Circle swaps video which I will be posting next week~ We were told at that time we should plan on around 125 swaps BUT the count has changed to 113 .
Sharon will be swapping them for me since I will not be attending this years Founders Circle event .
The awesome thing is that Stampin' Up! is allowing those of us that can't attend still take part of the awesome swap, We just have to have someone to swap them for us ....
Plus SU! will send all of us that can't attend, the amazing pillow gifts they give us at Founders !
Seriously as sad as I am that I will be missing all the fun at Founders and seeing all my friends, I had planned my surgery for this time on purpose .
I knew in my heart my hip / pain I was not going to be able to go even if I wasn't having surgery you see one of the BIGGEST event's that happens at Founders is visiting Knab and visiting with all the empolyees that make our fabulous stamps and it's a ALL day event with a very long bus ride there and back.
PLUS a behind the scenes tour of making the stamps and with my hip and the pain I am having, I knew I wasn't going to be going even If I couldn't get the surgery done at this time ....
BUT Praise God I got my surgery scheduled for the day before Founders Circle starts and PLUS I wouldn't have to be looking at all the photos of the fun I was missing on face book since I will be so "out of it" after surgery and focusing on my hip and getting home.
My surgery is a week from this Tuesday & my doctor says I should be home on Thursday or Friday . The surgery is about 1 1/2 hours it's that AMAZING?
That's a lot shorter time then last years femur surgery which was over 8 hours.
I do have videos lined up for when I am recovering and also blog posts all pre scheduled . I would really appreciate all your prayers.
From everything I have been hearing from so many of you the hip is alot easier than the knees and well lets face it ~ I have the knees down pat .
I am really looking forward to walking without pain and without the cane again.
Not sure if you all remember that I am a big Elvis fan and I am not alone with sweet Ella. She is soooo cute!

Have you ever wondered what the different between all the 3 style of stamp sets Stampin'Up! offers .
Wood Mount stamp set = These stamp sets have the wood blocks included in the stamp set . Peel off the backing of the rubber stamps and adhere onto the wood block, also comes with a sticker sheet of stamp images to adhere to wood blocks .
Clear Mount stamp set= Clear mount look like our famous Red Rubber stamps but what makes these different is the cling foam which clings to clear blocks . Clear Mount stamps do NOT come with the blocks those are sold separately on page 234 in Annual catalog, also comes with a sticker sheet of images to adhere to the back of the actual stamp . Photopolymer stamp set = Just like the clear mount sets that use the clear blocks for stamping BUT these stamps are totally clear . NO need for stickers to see right where you're stamping your image . They also cling really great to our clear blocks. You can check out Stampin'Up! video on the Photopolymer stamps below.
