Dawn, have a wonderful time..there is a great casino..and if you are into tacky..a visit to Signal hill is a must..Madame Tussads...all kinds of creepy, freeky fun things to do. You might also want to go under the falls..there are tons of signs..you actually go into caves and the rushing water of the falls is in front of you..quite an experience.

Wow sounds like you have some great trips planned.
I don't understand, why does he have to leave the US? Thanks for the great ideas

So happy for you. You'll have so much fun. I think the commenter above summed it up. The tackiness is part of the experience lol Niagara-on-the-Lake is pretty and maybe 30 min from where you'll be. Small town, little shops. Big wine growing area. If you're really bored you can drive 6.5 hrs east and come and see me! lol Just kidding, we'll be in Mexico. Have a great time!

You are a whirlwind-in-action! Wow! I'm tired just reading all you've gotten done! Have a great visit with your husband! Niagara Falls is BEAUTIFUL!

if you like wine, take a trip out to the vineyards. Stone Church Vineyard was our favorite!

Cute projects Dawn......hope you enjoy your day picking up your hubby. I wondered too why he has to be out of the U.S. Course, that wont be a hardship going to the Bahamas!!!! lol

While in Niagra visit the butterfly conservatory. BEAUTIFUL! Visit the Hersey Chocolate factory. And do some winery tours. Or just stay in a hotel with hubby! Wink wink! Enjoy him while he is home!

Enjoy every moment with your hubby!!!! Sounds like you will be having a lot of fun. Thanks for all the great ideas on your blog and for keeping it going while your hubby is here. Have a wonderful time.

Dawn you simply amaze me!!! You always have awesome projects and if I wasn't a demo myself I would be more broke than I already am just trying to keep up with your projects!

Enjoy your time with your wonderful husband. How long is he in the service for? I am curious too, why does he have to be out of the US??? Inquiring minds want to know! LOL

Wish I had an excuse to get out of the US to a beautiful Island!

I live just an hour from the Falls and all the above things to do there are perfect. I never get tired of the magnificence of the Falls, especially the Canadian Falls. The main themed area is actually called Clifton Hill. Go to the Niagara Falls official website for lots of info on what to do there. Have a GREAT time!!!!

I hope you have a wonderful time with your hubby!!!

Have a great time with your husband. Girl, I thought he was in the service and stationed in Iraq. I have prayed for him and his safety. Good to know that he is not there but on another job. Oh well, no matter where he is we all need prayers.

Dawn, have an awesome time with your hubby. I am so thrilled for you and I know that you are so excited you can hardly keep up, but somehow you managed to get it all done! Enjoy each moment and I pray that it will be a relaxing, enjoyable time for you and hubby! See you around this here site! Lynn from sunny Sahuarita, AZ

Hi Dawn -
I rarely post but always view (I have you in my google reader)! I just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate all that you share and to congratulate you on hubby coming home. What a wonderful relationship you have with him. You are blessed! Best wishes!

I could not be more happy for you and your's. Thank your husband for me. Even though I am Canadian I appreciate the effort and sacrifice that these men and women make in defending their country. You are just a borderline away from us and war changes those borders because of who lives inside them. I am grateful that United States is on the other side of my country's border.

Now about Niagra Falls. I live in Alberta but have been to the falls and they are breathtaking. Be sure to go down and go under them and you can take a boat ride on the Maiden of the Mist that actually takes you under then. It is awe inspiring.

Niagra on the Lake is also beautiful and I said that if I could retire wherever I wanted to in Canada that would be the place. BEAUTIFUL!!!!

Lots of history at it's best.

Enjoy each other and your time together and hopefully this terrible war will be over soon and he will be home safe and sound for good.

love Kathleen

I live in CANADA, you go travel to TORONTO go up the CN TOWER!

If the weather was nicer I would say Marinland.

awwh! I wanna go! lol I"m sure you'll have a lovely time, niagra is beautiful as is Canada. Downtown Toronto is awesome! Beautiful architecture and th hockey hall of fame lol. It's super clean and everyone is really nice.

ENJOY your stay with your favorite girl (DAWN) And enjoy your trip.

~~~~Hugs for you & Rich~~~~
What a great day for you !!! Great projects posted, great vacation (you can't beat going to Canada ;) !!!!) and greatest of all HUBBY'S COMIN' HOME !!!! Give him a bear hug for me !!!
Dawn cute projects!!!
I am so excited for you and your hubby and what better place to go than Niagra Falls how romantic. I have seen people who go on the boat tour that takes you under the falls. It looks like so much fun and of course very wet...he he. No matter what the two of you do it will be great because you are together. Have fun we will be waiting to hear all about it but until then God bless you both.
Debbie/Phx AZ
Have fun on your 'date' trip. Niagara Falls State Park (on the NY side) has Three Sisters Island and Goat Island with spectacular views of the falls from the top!
Enjoy. Clifton Hill is the "ultimate" in tackiness but it is so much fun to wander. It is full of gift shops, wax museums, haunted houses, ice cream shops, etc.
Casino (if you are a gambler)
The Falls (obviously)
Maid of the Mist (could be a cold ride though - and I am not sure it runs all year)
Not sure where you are staying, but if it were me, I would stay at one of the B&B's or Resort Hotels (Pillar and Post, Prince of Wales or Queen's Landing) in Niagara on the Lake.
Do a wine tour. Some of the wineries also have great settings for intimate dinners.
Most of all Enjoy!
Oh, I hope you get lots of nice photos to share (hint, hint!) What kind of sub-contracting does Rich do? Sand castles? (groaaan!)
You've certainly been busy. Have a wonderful time wherever you are and may God's light shine on both of you. Mary Jo
Hi Dawn...soooo glad you and Rich get to get away for a while...hey in June we will be at the Barcelo Maya Beach Resort...can't wait...have fun in the Bahammas! We've been there on a cruise 2 times...you'll love it there...you won't want to come home! LoL..
Have a GREAT time...
Have a spetacular GOD filled day!
Thanks for all the great ideas. Just wondering why you HAVE to leave the US? Have a great time anyway. Love the Bahamas!! Woohoo
Sorry just read the update.
Couldn't be happier for you and Jesse right now! Enjoy your time with your husband and I'm sure Jesse must be thrilled to have her Dad home. As a Canadian, I will Welcome you to Canada and I hope you have a FANTASTIC visit..ENJOY!
I live in Toronto - a 1 1/2 hr. drive away from NF. DH & I love that area and spend a lot of time riding our bikes between Niagara-on-the-Lake and Queenston on the bike/walking path along the Niagara River - there is a road that runs between NF and NOTL and it is a gorgeous drive. NOTL is a very pretty little town with lots of shops. There is lots to see and do in the area - wineries, wax museums, butterfly conservatory etc. Google NF and NOTL and you will see what I mean. I would love to move to that area when we retire.
I love all your projects and I also love Niagara Falls. The two of you will have a blast.
My husband and I went to Niagara Falls for our honeymoon. We stayed at the Doubletree on the Canadian side and did not cross the border back until the week was over. There is so much to do!
Not sure if they still have it, but we did a winter pass special, but if they do, I highly recommend that.
The best part of the trip, besides the falls themselves, was Bird Kingdom and the Butterfly Conservatory. AMAZING.
I could go on and on forever, but I won't. Have fun and take lots of picutres!
Oh, I live only about 20 minutes from the Falls. You will love it. So romantic. If you can visit the US side, do go to Goat Island, and stop at Three Sisters Island,can be up close to the water, spectacular view. Also, walk along the rapids, right before water flows over the falls, also a sight to see.
Canadian side has all the entertainment though. Enjoy!
They have an amazing butterfly farm there. Definately worth a visit!
