I don't do my tree in one color. I like to do mine all in ornaments that are handmade, look handmade, or in ornaments that have a special meaning to me and my husband. We use very few store bought balls anymore. It is a rustic, homey looking decoration scheme but we LOVE it.

Dawn,
First i want to say "Thanks" i check out your site everyday--and get so many cute ideas...
I decorate my tree with multi colored lights and the ornaments and 'stuff' all have to be bears...i even have a bear that sits on the top. I love it.

A Blessed Christmas to you Dawn!
Since I put up 6, yes SIX, Christmas trees they all have different colors/themes. My 15 yr old daughter has a shoe theme (I call her the Mrs. Marcos of Monroe City!), my 11 yr. old son is a sports and hunting theme. The Big tree is all red and gold, my bedroom one is blue and silver, we have a Wizard of Oz tree (complete with ruby slippers), and we have a half tree that has antique and family heirloom ornaments on it. Keep in mind that I do not have a huge house either...just lots of holiday spirit (3 Nativity sets as well).

Hey Dawn,
I got to say I love your site, I visit it daily. I let my grandkids decorate my Xmas tree with all of the ornaments that have been collected over the years. I usually lose a couple do to breakage, oh well, just means I get to buy some new ones.

Our Christmas tree is not done in any one color. We use multicolored lights and ornaments the boys have made over the years plus the Hallmark ornaments they have gotten over the years. It is so fun to remember past holidays.
I loved seeing you painting the snowman on your daughters nails. So cute--She is so pretty. What a good mom! :-)
Enjoy the holiday season and your snow--it is pretty from a distance. In southeastern PA we have only had a dusting of snow and some ice.
Stay warm
