Just Buzzin' By ...

Hi Stampers:

 Is this set  just the cuttest or what ? I used  just about all the images this set has  for my cards . There is a flower and a Honey jar as well in this set . Both greetings come in this set also .  Each Bee has her own Personality which of course  I love all of their  cute faces . The Bee hive is such a cute idea  and I have  lots of  ideas floating around  my head  for  this set . Hopefully  they will manifest on  card stock :)

  These cute  bee cards I made for my  downline (  shown in photos~ well ...As many as I could get in  the shot anyway. ) .

Each Quarter I make them all a card  and  this is what they got this month for our 2nd quarter this year ..

Here is what the cards look like  on the inside " Have a Honey of a day ". Don't you love it ??  and the best part is that those little  bee's fit inside the 1" circle punch too .  You can check the video on how to make this style  card HERE

Valentine Mini candy bar holder ..

Howdy Stampers:

 Today's project looks  familiar HUH? It's  those  Awesome mini candy bar holders.. I did a video on them HERE , But  todays  holder I used  the  Brand new  Love you much bundle of goodies  the designer paper is  the Candy lane  and the hearts I used the  Heart to Heart  punch  and the  layer  with Hugs and Kisses is from the Love  you much stamp set  which all these  items are in the Love you much  bundle 115405 at 20% off  right now .

I used the  Scallop circle punch #109043  &  1" circle punch#109046 for  the layers  on  my Hugs and Kisses layer . I used Pink Pirouette Card stock  with the 1 1/4 " circle punch #104403  the  chocolate chip card stock  for the large  scallop  which is from the Baskets  and  blooms Bigz Die # 113484. I also used the paper piercing tool and mat which are all in the Crafters tool kit #104310  for the  tiny  holes

Hi Stampers :

New goodies  again today .. This stamp set is called Echoes of Kindness and it  is a new Hostess level 2 stamp set   from the New Catalog  being released  on January 19, 2009 . So many awesome Hostess  level 2 and Level 3 stamp sets coming in the new catalog  It was very hard  to choose  since we  as demonstrators  can  purchase Only 1  from each level ( Boo Hoo!)

I  did the Crayon  resist for my card today  with Pretty in pink classic ink #101301 and Mellow moss classic  ink#102774  and Black classic ink  #101179 along  with the  same  colors in the card stock . I also added  some Light pink Gingham ribbon #104828  as well I used  the Designer label punch #107590 with the  stamp set Elegant  cheer #111079 with (2) Vintage Brads # 109109 in black .

You can view the  video I did over a year ago ( Dec 26, 2007) on the  Crayon  resist technique (See below ). It seems  I  need to  do a few of these  videos  over  since I didn't  do to many overlays with my editing back when I 1st started making my  videos   and I have been requested  from  many  stampers  that  watch my  videos who are deaf  that my  overlays  help ( which is why I started doing the  overlays with info about the  project  and Etc... in the 1st place)   so I think I may start  remaking a  few of the  older videos  again .. kinda like  something "old is new again" :)  I will set up a category just for those  updated videos when the time  comes .

Dawns Sunday Share 12-28-08

Happy Sunday! Wowzie what a week ..

My Mom had  her stitches removed  and  had a new cast put on  Christmas Eve  Morning ( YUP its purple again see photo  ) I have attached a very small  photo of her wrist after the bandage  was removed . Its small in size since I don't want  gross  you out  when  you  came to visit me today. Plus  the Xrays  of her wrist with her new plate  ..   so Click on photos to enlarge  your  viewing ~ 

I also made a  short video ( below)  of my Moms exciting  day at the  doctor office  Christmas Eve. Don't  worry I edited  the  video and give you a heads up  Just in case  you  don't  want to  see the  stitches removed . Its a short video  just over 3 mins long . Wonder if you  can hear what my moms  says  about me & Purple  when she is getting her purple cast put on .  

 

Well I was going to post the  Fabulous web site  where I got Opies  gift  for Christmas ( Remember ?)BUT  Ran into some problems  from that  company ( No longer  in Business and of course I didn't  find this out until After Christmas   ) and since I had  placed my order  with them back on Dec 4th  you  would have thought  I would have had the gift By Christmas  NOPE  so I  emailed , Called  at least 3 times each with NO luck Then  the last  thing I did  was  finally  checked my bank statement &  they hadn't even processed my order  BIG SIGN  No order  was going to  arrive by Christmas.

SO in my search  for a similar gift I went else where  and BOY am I glad I did  cause I got a bunch More coming  Plus Opies   so instead  of me posting  what use to be a  awesome  web site I will not even waste  your time with that site  right now ( BUMMER too cause it was  awesome ) . I just ordered  another gift ( similar to  the one I ordered  at the  Out of business  company )  last night  and  I will share that  hopefully next week  since  the gift is on its way  and  we don't want  to spoil the surprise for Opie Right ?  Sorry ~ Next Sunday I will share  both sites  Okey dokey ?

 

 This past Monday  It was announced  that I had won 2 Free Stamp sets  from the new catalog  for  Having  sold the most Country Living  Holiday collection kits for Michigan

This past week has been so  fun  even though it  felt  really weird not uploading  videos this week , But It was a nice  break . Thank you  all for your  sweet  comments  this past week  you all are  the BEST!  

I know you  all are  sooo excited about the Brand new catalog  coming right ?  well the next few days I have new  goodies ~ Kinda like a sneak peek of  sorts  for you .. 

The  flower in this  stamp set is sooo pretty   and its even better cause its a  2 step stamp image  YAHOO!  So many other cute images in this sset, I can hardly wait  to use it again :)  This set is called  Dream a little  and it is one of the Brand new Hostess Level 3 stamp sets in the new catalog set to be released on January 19, 2009 . 

I used Pretty in pink card stock  # 100459 and  Pretty in Pink classic ink #101301   with Black classic ink #101179 for my  flowers 

 I used  Certainly celery cardstock # 105125  with the Scallop Edge punch #112091 and  Certainly Celery Classic ink  #105217 was used  for  the tiny  flower in the background . Such a sweet & Simple card  I love  how soft it looks . I also popped  up a couple of the flowers I cut out  with Dimensionals # 104430  and then added  a tiny  bit of Dazzling Diamonds # 102023  to the petals . LOVE IT!!

By the way I thought I would start using my new watermark that I made a couple weeks ago  since it will be 2009 next week and PLUS  I got a few new Goodies from the 2009 catalog,  I Might as well  use my new watermark .. Do you like it?

WOW From what I have  seen from all of  the comments  today is what seems  to be very  popular is having more than 1  Christmas tree. :)  Everyones  Christmas Trees  sound sooo Beautiful .. Seems like Red is the color since  out of the 264 comments I got  today , over 1/2 of you mentioned  RED was on  your tree  this year  . You all ROCK!!

Dawns Sunday Share 12-21-08

Hi Stampers:

For my  Sunday share today~ Look what we got ~ At least 10"-12" of snow  Friday morning YUCK!!  (  good news though Jessie's Christmas break started a day earlier ) So It's a  Great time  from some Puppy  chow ( below)  .  I also  made a second batch to send to  hubby  In his Christmas  box of goodies  I am sending  out .

  I can not  tell you how  good this Puppy  chow is I found it  at Taylors  blog  a couple years ago and have been  addicted to this stuff ever since  .. It is  sooo seriously  yummy  you  will not be able to control yourself .. 

Here is the  recipe for the Puppy  chow 

1/4 cup butter

1 cup chocolate chips ( I use Butterscotch chips instead since hubby  doesn't  eat chocolate ~ I know its shocking HUH?) 

3/4 cup peanut butter

8 cups Crispix or other rice cereal

2 cups powdered sugar

Melt butter, chocolate chips ( or  Butter scotch chips) , and peanut butter in the microwave. Pour mixture over cereal and stir to coat evenly. Pour 2 cups of powdered sugar into a paper bag and add the chocolate covered cereal. Close the bag and toss until the cereal is coated with powdered sugar. Thank you Taylor !

Update on my Mom's wrist:

Her surgery  went  well ~BUT  much longer than planned  Doc said it  would be about 1 hour ended  up  being  close to 4 1/2 Hours  & That's not  counting the  the 1 hour   check in before surgery and  close 2 hours in recovery before we  left . I am not  complaining  But  God Knows I was  quite concerned after 3 hours ya know ..

  Doc  finally  came out  with the X ray of her hand  and explained to me they  ran into  a  situation  that didn't  show up on the X ray.  Her  wrist  bone which got  the plate ended  up looking like  a  BIG "T" in her hand.  I  was  told her  bone that is connected to her  wrist  split in  half and was shattered  so thats why it  took so much longer  in surgery . Mom and I  both said Praise God she  went ahead with the  surgery after all , since they found  more damage in there  that the X ray didn't pick up  the day before .. 

She got to come home after being in the recovery  room  for almost 2 hrs. Her arm was numb  until  the next morning  and then thats where the meds  kicked in. WHEW~ Thank you  Lord for Pain medicine.  She  goes back for a  follow up with the Doc  on Christmas Eve  at 8:45am   Which at that time I  will be able to get photos  of her  arm and share them later .. 

I  posted the photo of her  the night  she came home right  after  surgery .. NO cast  Just a sling  and Ace bandage  ( so long purple cast ) She would  be  mad if I posted  the  full photo of her without makeup :)  so I cropped it  down  to just her arm .

Ok Now on to something alittle a bit   different from my  usual stamping videos  .. I have  always  had fun adding  a snowman  made with  acrylic  to one of my  finger nails  around Christmas . sooo I thought it  would be a  fun change of pace  to show  you how I do this  today for my Sunday share .

I use OPI products  and have  forever ( Love them )  Jessie will be my hand model for todays  video .. 

Actually  I NEVER thought  that  a day would come  that I would be able  to add a snowman to her  finger nail  WHY  you ask ?  because  ONLY resently  she stopped  bitting her  nails  and  they are sooo beautiful now .  It's hard  to believe she ever  had  such short  nails.   I added a  couple photos  to show you  want I mean . You may have to click on photo to enlarge your  viewing .. 

So what made her stop bitting her nails .. NOT her Mother of  course :)  even though I would tell  her all the time not  to bite her nails  because  you never know where  your hands  have been  ( ya know  gems , getting  sick  etc... The  whole  speech  a Mother gives  ) BUT  her friend a few months ago  told her  that she  shouldn't bite her nails  cause bacteria lives under her nails  YUCKY!!  Thats  what did it... She seriously  stopped bitting her nails  that day~  GO figure :)  But I'm very proud of her since I know  this habbit is very hard  to break ~ Way to go Jessie :)

Did  you notice I have added a google  search bar  on my  blog .. Now  you  can  enter keys words  and  search for them on my  blog  or the  world wide web .I had one on here  for awhile and then it  disappeared  so I added  a new one .. Hope this helps  when seaching  for  projects on my  blog . I also added  the  quick links at the top of my  blog , as well as the  new  design  ( a little  deeper purple )  gotta love that :)

Copper Merry Christmas ... Long post today

Hi Stampers:

 Got lots  to share today sorry for the longer than normal post ..

I made this card last night since I had  some  brushed  cooper card stock left over  from  the previous retirement  and  thought it  would be fun to use  it  for a Christmas  card ~ this is what I came  up with .  I used the Season of Joy  stamp set #110384 for all the images  on my  card  .

I used  Sage shadow  card stock # 101563 and  also the  Sage shadow classic ink # 102532 for my  tree BUT  I think all the  glitter  drowns  out the  color Hee! Hee!  Just love all the  sparkle and shine on  this card .. For the base of my card I used Bravo Burgundy card stock #1105123

I also added some  Copper  Embossing  and  Copper brads all of  which  were from the 2006/2007  catalog  and have been retired . ( sorry ) 

Measurements  for card are as follows :

Base= 5 1/2" X 8 1/2" scored at 4 1/4"

Brushed  copper = 2 1/4 "X 4 1/4"

Sage Shadow =2" X 4"

Brushed copper= 2 1/4" X 3 1/4"

Whisper white = 2" X 3"

Update on my Moms wrist: No photos to share since all they did was take a X -ray  with her cast on, They knew right away  they wouldn't be removing it,  Since  It was clear from X ray   she  needed  surgery  which  she goes in today at 1:45 pm to put a plate in her wrist  to stabilize  her wrist bone  which  is off center  and will continue to move  & get worse over time  and it would  soon   collapse . Surgery is about 1 hour  and  is out patient ~ Is that amazing or what ? Doc said after  Surgery  she will wear  a smaller cast  for only  2 weeks  then  she will need  Physical Therapy for a awhile..

Merry Christmas !!

Hi Stampers:

I can't believe  Christmas is only  9 days away.  And the 1st day of Winter has not even started yet ? I hear it's on Dec 21, 2008. I feel like it  started  weeks ago by the weather we are having  YUCK!! My Personal  time table  for the 1st day of winter was  with the  1st snow fall :) 

While saying  warm  from Winters chill this  past weekend  I made all my Club girls  their Christmas  cards  and  here they are..   I have seen alot of these type of cards on SCS  and  Just fell in love with them .

For  my cards I use Night of Navy Card stock along  with Night  of Navy Classic ink    with Lovely  as a tree  stamp set#101223 ,  

Winter post stamp set #111780 (I can see why Shelli  Gardner(CEO and cofounder of SU! ) has this set  in her new Signature Collection .. I love this stamp set as well.  You can see  Shelli's  Signature collection of items  by looking  for a  tiny Heart  symbol by  each Item # in the Holiday Mini) 

 I also used the  photo corners punch #109042  the greeting is from Best Yet level 1  Hostess ONLY stamp set with the large oval punch #107305 . Of course  the dazzling  Diamonds  really makes this card  super fabulous  IMHO :)  I did the masking technique  on my cards . I have a video on this card  coming this week   so stay tuned  for that . I really  love  this Christmas Card .

My Club  girls  had a sneak peek of their  Christmas card at club night this month  But  that  version  was using  Handsome  Hunter I  Love that color as well But  didn't have enough  Card stock to make  all of them  for my   girls  so I went with Night of Navy  instead and I  think I like it better . 

Today Mom and I are going to the doctor RE: Her Wrist/ Arm  to find out  the latest . Thank you  for all your prayers .. Her  hand is still swollen and  now is Black and blue  which is  to be expected I suppose.  I can only image  what her arm looks like under that cast .. We will find out  today if  she need  surgery  as well as  get a new X ray of  her wrist and a new cast ( hummm... what color this time ?)

Another 2-4-6-8 Box

Hi Stampers :

Here is another 2-4-6-8 Box I made this time  I used the Round tab Punch #108340 for the closure.

  I think it  turned out pretty cute .. I used the   double sided paper from the Pina  Colada  Simply scrappin kit # 112186

 You can  watch the video on how to make a 2-4-6-8 box HERE.

 For the  closure I adhered the  round  tab  punch to either side of my 2-4-6-8 box with sticky  strip # 104294   then Punched a  hole through both sides of the  tab at the  same time  with my 1/8" hand held punch# 100391 then  took my  scissors  and cut  the tab  in half , Then  tied  a bow with  White taffeta  ribbon #109070  to seal shut ..Easy peasy  Stampers .

 How about  alittle bit of  Christmas music  with one of  My Favorite Elvis songs " Blue Christmas " I was at Sams  Club the other day and seen a New CD  called Elvis  Presley Christmas  Duets  CD ~  personally I just  wish  they would have  just left him alone. 2nd post again today ...

Hi Stampers :

Last night my Mom took a nasty slip on black ice~  She is ok BUT we spent  most of  last night  at the ER.  She  really  did a Bang up  job on her  right wrist ..

She  broke in  in 3 places and may have  to have surgery 

to put pins  in  her  wrist  to make it more stable we will get more info  if she needs  to have the  surgery this upcoming Tuesday  when we  go back to the Ortho doc  that  set her  wrist in place last night  and put her in a cast .

 She was in  so much pain it was killing me  to hear her scream when they had  to set her  wrist  3 times  last night  even with Moraphine they gave  her right before didn't  do a thing  for the pain ..

Please if you  think of her  Please say a Prayer  for her  and  I just pray  her wrist  will   NOT need surgery .

   There is a  funny  story  with all that happened last night .. The Doc  said  he only had Green  for my Moms Cast~  Jessie and I both said  we  thought  Purple  would be  awesome  :)  So he  went  and hunted  down a cast kit in purple...  sooo My Mom is  pimp'n a  purple cast  GO MOM!! 

 Her  arm/ fingers/ wrist are  very swollen( as shown in  photo  to compare  her  good hand  to the bad  above )   . She ended up spending the night  here a my  house last night   so we  could  keep an eye on her  and  Just incase her wrist was to  collasped ( Which it didn't Praise God!!)

Hi Stampers:

You all are  sooo sweet to email me/post comments  that   you are feeling sad  for me  since Mr Crabby Pants  aka Crab & Company #108559 is on  the retirement list :(

OH  say it isn't  sooo.. I guess my" long live Mr Crabby pants" plee  went on heard by SU!   But he will live forever in my  heart as One of my  Most favoritest  little guys  ever .I will  continue to keep his   famous Gallery  on my  blog  in honor of his cuteness .

So I guess it  goes without  saying that todays  post is in honor  of Mr. Crabby pants  AKA Crab & company#108559 . I used the  Top note  die#113463 in Rose red card stock and the  Pennant  Bigz XL die # 113483 was used with Old Olive  card stock  which  by the  way this  scallop circle  from this pennant  die  works perfect with the  1 3/4" circle punch #112004 which is what I used to punch out Mr Crabby pants.   I  then folded the top note  die in half  punched   a 1/8 hole  on the  point  and added  some  white GG ribbon# 109025  and then I used the  slit  punch #104388 for the inside  to make it in to  a Ghirardelli chocolate  holder. I just had to make  mine  with my most  Favorite little  guy on the front I  also punched out "Sandy Claws with the Word window punch #105090 which fits perfectly.  

Thank you  for  your  concerns about my  saddness  to see  Mr Crabby pants  on the retirement list . I guess if  there is a  good time  for him to go down in History  would be  when  he is  still highly  loved  By his #1 fan ( ME) and hundreds of other stampers  everywhere .

Stampers Club Night 12-6-08

Hi Stampers :

 This past Saturday I had  our Stampers  club meeting and I thought I would share  some photos  with you .. JoJo  was our hostess for  this event  & 2 of my Stampin  Queens  brought their  Christmas cards to show all of us . I  want to share them with you  today since their cards  are sooo Awesome . I was told by both of my Stampin queens  that  a couple cards were cased   from others  on SCS and wanted to make sure I  mentioned that( They didn't remember  who though )  .    The 1st 2 are stamped by Laura W.  I  don't know which is my  favorite since I  love them  both since they  are using  one of my  favorite  Christmas stamp sets  this  year ( Christmas classic # 111566) . Fabulous cards  girlie .

 

 

The next photo  are the cards  that Laurie N made  she actually  brought the Santa  candy bar wrapper and also the  matching card  for me .. YAHOO!! Is he  just the  cuttest thing or what ? The  other 2 cards  are also  stamped By Laurie BOY do they sparkle too ( she used the Holiday Lineup stamp set # 111648  for  those  .  

Here are  some other random photos  of our Club night . I also wanted to let  my Club  girls know that  those that  couldn't make it  to  club night  ( Philly, Laura, Kristen, Jenny & Carol ) both  club projects  will be featured this week in Video  format  . We always have so much fun at our  club  night . Dawns Sunday Share 12-7-08

Hi Stampers:

Sundays  have always been  my most favoritest day of the week Mainly  because  we get to go to church But now  it seems  My Sunday share posts have become a hightlight  for me as well  and  from what all of you  are  saying in your  comments / emails  You love my Sunday share as well YAHOO!!  

Remember  back a few months ago  when I did  a drawing  for my Cricut machine all the money donated to this drawing  was going towards  gifts  for  the people in Iraq who my hubby is  witnessing  too . Well I have  this short video  now to share with all of you  re: That mission . ( I was waiting on  photos and videos  My hubby  took of this exciting day  that the  presents  arrived there in Iraq) Thank you  all again who  took part of this awesome  outreach .My Hubby left this past Thursday . He  will hopefully be home again in March

 

 

Ok since we are freezing  here in Michigan and I love dogs, I just have  to share this  video with  you  all as well . The dogs name is Baily  and I think you  will agree with me  He is a HOOT  to watch and OH BOY  he sure  Love's the snow ( wish I did ) .

Hi Stampers:

I have   a Fun stamping 411 for you  today .. I will highlight these super  fun and  easy to use Kids tattoo kits . There are 2 kits available ( below)  and Make   Great  stocking  stuffers, Birthday gifts. I have even  used these for school event  for those that  had paid  to enter they got a tattoo on their hand so many fun ideas  with these cute tattoo kits. Everything  comes in a clear draw string bag ( 6 Markers  w/Black ink pad ( all kid safe )  and each kit comes with 6 different images  with the  plastic blocks  for the stamps

Pizza anyone ?

Hi Stampers:

I seen these adorable mini pizza boxes everywhere lately I had to make one too .

 I made   Mine into a Christmas box  that holds  Christmas M&M's . I just love this box  it is sooo  cute and very easy to make .

I Love sponging ?

Hi Stampers:

I  am always  sponging  or  using my  daubers  to finish edges on  my projects  and this example is a perfect reason why I love to  do this . It really is sooo simple   and adds  so much to  all your  projects .. For  my  Top note  die  Christmas tag I think it  really makes it more rich looking and just brings it all together,   and  you  can tell by the other photo just how plain it was before  I added the  Chocolate  chip classic ink  to the edges  with my  sponge. I then added  Alpine  ribbon  and  frayed  the edges  a little bit  at the  ends . What a Cute way to decorate  your Christmas  packages .

Supplies I used were :

Top note bigz Die # with 

 Sahara Sand card stock #105328.

 The stamp set is  Winter Post # 111780

from the  Holiday mini  along with

Alpine ribbon # 113100 

from the Holiday mini as well  I added a Jumbo Eyelets ( Pewter ) # 108432  with my  Crop-a-dile # 108362.

 I used  SU! sponges ( 3 in pack  cut in  1/4 wedges )  #101610  

for the edges  with Chocolate  chip classic ink . and then used the  Color spritzer tool # 107066  with the Chocolate chip marker #100071 ( Video  is coming soon on this tool stampers ~ stay tuned ) to add a little  speckle  to my  gift tag
