Look what I made this weekend ...

  Oh My goodness these snowflakes are sooo  addicting  and fun to make  I really was on a roll  Friday  night . Hee! Hee!  I figured  that since we are not putting up a Christmas Tree this year  I would make  ornaments  using the  chip board ornaments from the last mini  along with the  WINTERGREEN DS paper  These are the ones I have made so far . These are hanging on the  inside   center space in my  entertainment  center . I would  show you  what I looked like after I glittered  them all BUT I  couldn't take a photo of my self sooo just think of me looking like a human disco ball :-)  What a Great  time   glitter and I had together  dancing and swirling  under  the  spotlights in my  stampin room . I used the  retired  Stampin'Up! Glitter  from the glitter stack I believe  called Sea Foam (?)  and of course dazzling diamonds . For the huge  Snowflake  with glitter I used  SU! Heat and stick  to apply  the sparkles , for the others I used   the 2 way glue pen ..  I  also used SU!  glue stick ( Love this stuff)  to apply   the DS paper to the chip board  ornaments  I love how you  can  move the designer paper  around a  bit after laying it down  when you use this fabulous  glue  stick ... You may have to  let it  sit  a little bit longer  before you  take the  sanding block to it BUT  that was no problem  since  I just kept moving  along  and  putting  them together . Then the  final  touches with the sanding block and adding  glitter  & GOLD BRADS   with my  Crop a dile ( Love this tool but you already know that HUH? )  was the highlight of making these .. Dont you love making  something and seeing  it  all unfold right before your eyes ..  I Love, Love, Love it !!

Merry Christmas

Flip flap fold card ( Try and say that fast 3 times )

This card  is showcased in the technique  Junkies online resources  and I just love  it .. I used 2 sets  to complete my  flip flap  card  and  bashful blue and Buckaroo ( retired ) card stock was used  along with whisper white ..  the sets  are SNOWFLAKE SPOT and Merry ( retired )  and of course dazzling  diamonds on this one  girls  the background  on the left is  from the stamp set Snowflake  spot and I also added  white gel pen doodle dots ( again )  and the 3 punches I used were the 1 1/4 , 1 3/8  circle punches  and the scallop punch with the   wish  stamp from the set Merry . I Then  used my  SPONGE  with bashful blue  around the edges ..

Dawns Side note : I just love the  sponges and the  soft look it  gives  when you  want to  give a finished look to your  projects .. remember   you get 3  full size sponges for 3.50   BUT you  can cut these into quarters and get a total of 12  wedges , Fabulous  because  you  will then  have  one sponge  for  each color in  1 of our  fabulous color groups ( So  for  that  inexpensive price  you could buy 4 packs of sponges  and have one for  all 48 colors  ..)

Here is what my  Flip flap card looks like when opened .. I also used  my sponge in Bashful blue  to   smear over top of the MERRY  on left hand side .. the saying on the  right is from the MERRY  stamp set  also  .. Oh my goodness  girls we are getting  so close to Christmas ..  I am sooo excited .. Even though we are not  celebrating  Christmas  ON Christmas day since hubby  will be home  after the big day    and we will not be  putting up any of our usual Christmas  decorations .BUT I am planning on making stars  and   Christmas ornaments  to  Grace my  BIG bay window and  my entertainment  center to give  us some festive spirit  until Hubby comes home YIPPEE!! All I want for Christmas  is my hubby wrapped up in  a BIG RED bow  how awesome is That?

Using some retired goodies from last year ..

For my card today I used last years  "In "color  called  Buckaroo blue  and  the set is also  from last years retired list  called MERRY . This is when the Retirement list is Great cause you  get the   goodies  you really   really want,  So when they are gone forever you wont CRY

  I  thought I would try out a couple  of this months   Technique  Junkies   tech. This is  the 1st one I made  with the technique called  burnished   embossing .. Even  though I have been doing this  technique for  a long time, I never new  there was a name for it .. Go figure .. anyway  I just love the way it  turned out  .. I didn't think it needed any glitter  since its  soo cute just as it is , BUT I did add  some white gel pen doodle dots   since this set didnt have a smaller snowflake .The dots filled in  some empty space ..  so what do you think ?  Hope you like it .. If ONLY I didnt  go ahead and make  all my  Christmas cards  already Cause this would have  been it ... OH well there is always next year  right ?  This card   is a 4 1/4 X  4 1/4  sq Thought that would be a fun size  for this card ..

Happy mail call ...

Howdy again girls .. I thought I would share all the goodies   Jessie and I got in the mail this past week .. Yippee!! Love happy mail .. and these are some  beauties .. Thank you  girls  for  making our day!!

next on the  list of  Awesome birthday cards  for Jessie  come  from   my  Gals  Gina and Jenny ( Yup they are SIL's) .. OH my  Love the purples girls ..  you must have made these together NO ?  you  both  were thinking the  same thing  with the awesome  color  Hee! Hee!  Jessie loved  all her  Beautiful Birthday cards ... Thank you  girls ..

Now on to happy mail for  Christmas .. This card  came from my  friend Diane  Ritchie  what a  sweet  card and  Looks like alot of work with the oragami folding .. Just  sooo festive  girlie .. Thank you  so much  It is  fabulous!!

Next on the list is from   My friend Sally .. Is this the sweetest Christmas card or what ? Lilly is such a cutie pie girlie...  she makes such a  cute little   Santas  helper  with that adorable hat .. Thank you  for  sending me  this card  with yet another sweet photo of Lilly inside ..

Last But not least I got this  awesome card in the mail today .. from  my blogging  friend  Dawn  Easton ( Such a sweet name don't you think Hee! Hee! )   But seriously  WOW what a Christmas card .. Makes me  feel really  special  getting this  beauty look at all those  elements  to added to her card ( Brads,  Paper piercing ,  5/8 GG ribbon  and my favoritest set lately ).. Gee whiz  I hope your not  disappointed with the one I sent you  girlie :-( I love your card Dawn Thank you  so Much ...

Double slider card ...

OH  My I forgot how much I love bashful blue and lavender lace  colors together... I made this Double  slider  & it was  Super fun and easy  as long as you have the word window punch .. I used  SNOWFALL stamp set   along with  Black , whisper white & bashful blue  cardstock . Lavender  lace  ink was also used with bashful blue for the  snowflakes and stars .

Here is what it looks like when You pull the black gingham ribbon  TA... DA...  a  double  slider  pops out .. cute HUH? I had to  stamp the LET IT SNOW 3 times  just cause the song says it 3 times I guess  :-)

We  actually got  some snow yesterday YUCK ! .. talk about being COLD Thank goodness for  auto start on my car .. Thank you LORD!!  Have a fabulous snowy day girls ..

Wrapping some presents ..

Yesterday was a day for  wrapping a few presents  that are heading out of state  so I thought I had better get busy .. and here is what I got  done  so far ..  doesn't look like  much But  making the bows to match and  making the gift tags  was alot of  fun   and   gee whiz  It actually  went  quicker than I had planned ...  Just love the  combo  of  the blue and chocolate  colors    The  blue  presents are for guys and the brown are for gals ..  pretty cute  I think .. even though I may need  a wrapping  presents  class 101 BUT in my  defense   A few of them were oddly  shaped  soooo thats my  excuse .. wink wink ..  Contact me  for your Christmas  goodies... You have 9 days left to order Stampin'Up! presents to have them arrive on time for unwrapping~Deadline is  December 14th.( within the USA ) and dont forget about the  retirement list  and   Plus the  accessory  retirement list will be out in a  few days too

Twinkle Twinkle little Star... with NO adhesive

Hi girls .. Here is the Star tutorial  I really hope this  makes sense to you ..  1st of all you  will need  a 6x6 piece of Designer paper , Bone  folder, Cutter ( for scoring) Scissors   and   a long body stapler  and  some type of cord  or ribbon Thats it ... Ok are you  ready to begin ?  Remember  you can click photo to enlarge .

Score your  6x6 piece of Designer paper  at 1,2,3,4,& 5 

  what ever side you want your  star  design  to be  you  will lay your 6x6 piece of DS paper  face down ( shown in photo )

Start by folding your DS paper  accordian  style  as shown in photo.   Continue folding by flipping  and folding   until you reached the end

This  will be   what  the TOP of your  star  accordian  fold  will look like  REMEMBER this is the TOP with the 3  mountain  tops  and  YOU will be cutting  the other side " Bottom " ( This is VERY important  girls )

Next you will Then insert your  accordian  folded strip into your cutter  and  score a light mark  at 3" this will be  the center of your  strip  ( This mark only  severs as a  reminder  for the next step .. If you  can eye ball the  center then skip this  step  Hee! Hee!

Ok Now  using the  long body  stapler  you  will staple   in the center ( as shown in  this photo ) over top of the  light score line  you made in previous step

 

Ok now we are ready for  cutting .. REMEMBER you  will always be cutting on the BOTTOM side ( Refer back to step 5) ok  place your thumb over the center  staple  and  this will serve as  your guide where to cut I am right handed so my  cuts and the   bottom  of the  strip is facing right ( Very important  girls )

Ok now  start  cutting  at an angle  to the   top left side .. start  cutting   just below your  thumb ( as shown in  photo ) If you need to cut more  you  can always  cut more off later  But you  can never  put it back on  so  until you   make your  1st one  it is always better  to  cut less  than to MUCH  KWIM? wink wink !

Next Flip  your  strip  upward  and  cut the  next  side the same way as shown in photo . Using your thumb as  your guide again

Ok once your  done  cutting your angles this is what  the BOTTOM of your  star will look like

Ok now  comes the folding .. Remember   once you get the folding part down  you  will just play around with your  finished star  making adjustments  to  postion your  star YOU will not need any adhesive

Ok  next fold  one panel at a time  upward making a crease  to have it  stand  up  shown in  the photo .  You may want to  fold the  accordian  strip in half to make this  part easier  just to  get the center   creased  so each panel will stand upward

OK  here comes the trick girls  I really think the photo explains this best  since I  find it hard to  put into words .. Ok I will try . once you have your panel standing upward  take  your panel and  lay it  down  to your table  making  sure to make the  triangle  Point in the center .. You see the star forming now dont  you ??

Continue   doing this to all the panels  as shown in previous step .

Once you have done all your panels  now  comes the playing ... just postion your star panels  by  adjusting them  and pushing the  centers out or in  whatever  you  want your finished  Star to look like. Final step is punch a  tiny hole in  the top of one panel and add your  cording .. TA DA  you made your  Star  for  decorating  your  Home , tree  and or gifts . Dont you just love it ??

Dawns EXTRA Bonus TIP:  Now you  can make even smaller stars   using these directions  BUT   to make  a smaller star  cut your  piece of DS paper at 3x3 and score at  1/2" , 1", 1 1/2",  2" & 2 1/2" and follow the steps  above  this makes such a cute  tiny tiny  star. OH Christmas Tree ...

  Whats Funny is when I  was playing around with my  set ( PERFECT PRESENTATION ) and seen this  tree I  started  thinking of this song .. I  got to use my  poor cuttle bug that has been so Neglected  lately ..( Poor baby )    Mr  cuttle Bug  worked  over time with just this 1 card.  I  cuttle bugged everything  on this card with  the SNOWFLAKES embossing folder .. How fun is that ? This is   really a easy  card  and was a  fun time  using the   Glitter Stack ~ Retired~ ( See 2nd photo)   for the stars    Boy I wish  they would bring the glitter stacks back ! Everythingis pretty much certainly  celery  and whisper white  except  for the  stars of course  then I added celery GG ribbon .. Thanks  for  stopping by today  Hope you  come back tomorrow.

I made this  cute Star box  for my  daughter  birthday today ..  you can get the tutorial HERE super fun and pretty easy.  I of course had to make hers in Pink .. Inside hold 3 lip glosses  which she loves .. Now on to happy mail  box time  I got these beauties in the mail last week ..

YAHOO I love happy mail  dont you ?    The  1st one I got  from my  friend TERI  she sent me this adorable Christmas  card .. Just love that dashing DS paper .. Thank you  so Much Teri ..  when you pop in on her blog  make sure  you tell her I said HI !!!

This next one came from my  friend kay  OH my  another beauty girls .. this is one of those cards that has a double  goodie ..  the angel is actually a pin I can wear .. it this cute or WHAT?  I  added a  few photos  to show you  what she did ..

My baby is 15 today ..

Happy birthday to the  sweetest   baby girl  ever .. Yes she was  such a happy  baby.. WHY didnt  we have  more   babies ?  cause she was sooo good  I knew the next one would be a  hand ful .. isn't that how it always  works ?  WOW what a  sweet young  lady she has become .. and  We are soo blessed to have her as our  daughter ..  want to see more baby photos of her  click HERE. Normally  I   try and keep  this blog  to stampin  goodies But I thought  so many of you  are  like family  to me  SO I thought you may like to see my baby now ..  WOW hard to believe she is  6'1 and 15 years old  and in the  10 grade now .. Gee whiz  time flys  huh? what a personality  she has and  a tender heart for the Lord. One thing that cracks me up about her is she   does this thing with her left  eyebrow. ya know when Mom does  something goofy  she  gives me the   one eyebrow  arched  up  look..  She gets her  thick  curly  hair,  long legs   from  her dad .. She  has been a total Joy  to  watch  her  grow . and What a blessing it has been to have her with me  when  dad  is  gone . Our relationship has  gotten  stronger  and sweeter  by the  day .   Thank you Lord for  giving us  such a  wonderful baby  girl
