Faux Quilt card

Hi Stampers:

I just love  this card It's the 1st one I made, PLUS  I have a  video coming this week  so stay tuned  for that..

I think what I love most about this type of  card (Faux Quilt)  is that it  really  highlights  our fabulous 2 sided  designer  paper.

I used the level 1  Hostess Only stamp set called Darling Dots # 113708   and the  Designer paper is  from Rainbow Sherbet # 112471

This morning I have my  RA Doc. Appointment ( My 8 week check in / blood work  ) . Guess what  we got last night  right before leaving  for church ~ A couple inches of snow last night

Hopefully by the time I get home  from Doc appointment the snow will be  gone

 Happy Sunday  everyone ..

Today  would have been my  Dads 65th Birthday and  today also marks  the Day that My hubby went  to Iraq  2 years ago.

Todays card is one I have been wanting to make  for awhile.  I just think it is  the cuttest thing .Jessie  said it is one of her favorites~ I think that comes  from her  loving  Childern  so much . She is really  so Awesome  with little ones  and she is planning  to persue  Child developement after high school . I used a lot of punches  for my  card which are listed below

 I used the Party Hearty # 111532 stamp set  for the Celebrate You.  This card design I used for todays card came from this video  HERE

I have to share  with you  something that happened  yesterday .. It is  such terrible  thing  that only  a picture  could capture my  sad moment  . Yes I knocked over my  glitter Bowl  and there on the  floor was   so much glitter  BOO HOO!  This is actually  the  1st time this has ever happened to me.  I knew in my heart that it  would happen one day..

But there is  something good  through  this sad moment ~I had resently  purchased 3  jars of dazzling  diamonds  to  dump in  to my  glitter bowl  BUT  I had not  added  the jars  yet WHEW!!  Now that would have been even worse  If I had :)  

 Resently  I had  purchase  new tires  for my  car  and  well this past Friday I took my  car in  to have my  tires  rotated  and low and behold  One of my  factory rims was badly  bent~  Yes  we have HUGE pot holes  here in Michigan so Huge I think  some of them  my  whole  car  could fit in them :)  soo long  story short I got new  rims  for my  car .. Funny  when My hubby called I told him  I got new rims  for my car and all he asked was  if I got  spinners Hee! Hee!  NO !! To funny ~ Here  is my  car with her fancy new  wheels  I can't believe  how much different my  car looks  just from buying new  wheels ~ Go figure :)

For my  Sunday Share  I found Amazing  song  from Miley Cyrus  called The Climb  Big meaning in this song for such a young  girl  Dawns Side note : It is all about  the Journey  But as Miley says in her  song Its  about The  climb. Every mountain has a valley  and its how  we  get through the  valley  is how  sweet the Mountain  really is. Count your blessings Today !

Simple Card Wednesday

I have a  simple card for you  today I used the pocket Silhouettes  stamp set # 111672 & the stamp set called Heard from the heart # 111644 along with my  1 1/4  sq punch#104400 and  Scallop sq punch# 112081 ..

 I used Pretty in pink #100459, Regal rose# 105130  and  Close to cocoa #101341 card stock  with regal rose  GG ribbon  which is retired .

 My Honey bunch is  leaving today, so we have a busy day getting things packed and ready for him .

Dawns Sunday Share 3-22-09

Hi Stampers: 

 Happy Sunday !!

We  left  for  Niagara Falls yesterday ( Saturday )  and we  will return home tomorrow ( Monday ). 

I will share more details  later ..

 I will say the hotel  we are staying at  is Just Amazing and  the view   from our room truly shows Gods hands  at work .

Pop Up Birthday cake ..

Hi Stampers:

Just when you thought a   handmade card  stamped with Love  couldn't get any better.. Brace yourself  stampers .. We have a  Pop up birthday cake.

Oh my goodness This pop up birthday cake is  sooo stinkin  cute IRL  I can hardly  stand it.  I  have a video coming  soon on  how  to make this pop up cake  using the Big shot  YAHOO!!  I Just love it . I used the stamp set called Crazy for cupcakes #111618 for the outside images

for the inside images I used Party hearty  stamp set # 111532 . I used The  designer paper Sweet Always #112468 for the pop up cake... aaahhh look at the little candle  on top  Just love this pop up cake . Kinda freaked me out  to  close the card  and  squish  the  cake eeeek But  trust me  someone had  to do it Hee! Hee!  and  I can  tell you  It's all good  .

 This  was my 1st one I made  which  the finished  size card is a 6" X 6" my  next one I will try a 5 1/2 " X 5 1/2" size .
The  pop up cake is  really  very simple to make   But maybe a little time  consuming due to   adding  all the sticky  strip ~ which by the way  Sticky  strip is a MUST  for the pop up .

It is alot of fun making the cake and seeing it  come  to life  right before your eyes . Gotta love that !! 

This  three tier  pop up cake die will be available to everyone  starting  April 1st along  with  another fabulous die that makes  a  3-D pop up ball

By the way  stampers   if you look closely to my cake  you  will see a sneak peek of what is coming in the new occasions mini ... DO you  see it ?

Its  a Oval Scallop Punch OMG!!  I love this punch !  I love so many of the goodies in the new mini  which starts April 1st  YAHOO!! It is fabulous !!

Exciting news

  Here is Jessie and Dad  heading out for her driving test  yesterday morning   and Guess who  has her Driving license ?

Yupper Jessie  took her driving  test  yesterday   & passed and here she is  with her offical  License ( paper copy ) the  hard copy license   will be  sent to her in the mail in about a week ..

 Way to go Jessie :)  So very happy Rich was home to enjoy  this  wonderful moment in our daughters  life :)

Here is another Kit Kat candy bar wrapper,  which this time I used the  Sale-a-bration  stamp set called YUMMY # 113782  which   works  perfectly  with thiscandy bar  wrapper .

 Tonight is our Home bible  study  group  and my honey bunch  will be there with us . Plus my Mom is making His   favorite  BBQ Ribs & Peanut butter cookies  and she is making  my all  time  favorite Liver & Onions . I know  I may have grossed you  all out  with one of my  favorites :)   sorry .. But thats what I  call YUMMY!!

Dawns Sunday Share 3-15-09

Happy Sunday!!

Todays  photos are of  the  Note cards I made for Jessie's 11th grade class at school .

 They are  going to a  womans  shelter  this upcoming week  and  all the girls are  to take a package of diapers  and they will attach  one of these  note cards  to  the diapers  as  their  gift .

 I used the  retired  stamp set Swell News. This set is sooo cute  and I am soo Happy I kept it in my  Stamp collection . I also took a  photo of  what the inside  of the  note cards look like.  I stamped the  bottom left corner with the  pins   which  is also in this stamp set. ( so cute  and  tiny)

Here is the photo of all of the ones I made ( 20 ). For this  photo  I had to display them on my  counter in my Stampin room  so you  could see them all on  display . You  can click on  the photo/s to enlarge  your viewing if you like .

 This weekend My Hubby treated me like a Queen which started on Friday  with a day at the spa He  scheduled  a Facial, Body Massage, Manicure & Pedicure for me  HERE

Then it was off  to check into our Hotel room HERE  WOWZIE  what a Day  so far HUH? .. Then  came Dinner  at Ruth's & Chris Steak house HERE.. Absolutely  the BEST steak I have ever had in my whole life . Thank you  Sweetheart.

Linda's Workshop projects ..

Hi Stampers:

 Today is a Great day at the Griffith household .  My honey bunch is coming home this afternoon.This will be the  1st time Jessie  won't be   going with me  to pick him up since she is  having  MME testing  at school this week & she  can't sneak out  early  to go with me BUT she will be home  when  we get back from the airport.

Todays projects  are what we did at Lindas  workshop  a couple weeks  ago .The  Easter  gift card  holder  we made  was  from this video  that can be viewed HERE. I just made it into a  Easter themed  one  & used the  cute  chic  from the Good Egg stamp set # 114974  with the Sale-a-bration  Designer paper  Delicate dots # 114674  which you get the this pack of  beautiful designer paper  FREE  right now with Sale-a-bration

Over the  last week  I have  got  the next 2 weeks  videos  filmed for you  and  videos  for just my Glitter Queens ready to go,   deep cleaned the house , took  a car load  of goodies to Salvation Army, Prepared  a class project for  an upcoming Jr Church activitiy, Stamped  20 note cards for Jessies  Class  trip to a womens  shelter  this Friday ,  still  have a few  last minute things  to do this morning  But life is Good~ even with 1 hour less of sleep due to time change  this past weekend :)  

Last night we had  our Home Bible  study group , Our Bible study group on Tuesday nights are  excited to have Rich join our meeting  over the next 2 weeks  as well .

Rich will be  taking me  on  a special over night  date  this weekend . Then next weekend  we are heading to  Niagara Falls   Rich has to be out of the US for 3 days.   Our Tax guy said go to Canada,  so we are heading North next weekend Can't wait . YAHOO I can't believe  We have never been  to Niagara falls . 

 We have  a few things planned,  of course  going to the falls ( Just hope  it  will be a Great weekend  weather  wise ) Any ideas of  other places we should  visit while  we are at Niagara Falls ?

His next time  he comes home  in May/June we will be  going to the Bahamas  for 2 weeks  since that  time he will have to  be out of the US for the entire time

Updated  8:50am 3-11-09:

The reason He has  to be out of the country  is  due to the  fact that  he is  working with KRB as a sub contractor  in Iraq and  can only be  in the  States   for 30 Days  within a year  to  be Tax free  Money .

Todays card  is a Z  fold card.  The base is  cut at 5 1/2" X  8 1/2'  ~ Scored at 4 1/4" and then fold the  front  part of your card  back  to meet the  scored  edge.

  I used the Branch Out # 113200 stamp set and the Sanded  background stamp # 109294 .

The card base is  Close to cocoa #101341 and  I used  Elegant Eggplant card stock # 1051256 for the  added color to the edge  of my card and  for  the front layer . .

I  will be picking my hubby  up at the airport  tomorrow  YAHOO!!  Can't wait !

Dawns Sunday Share 3-8-09

  Hi Stampers: 

Today's project  is what I made for my   CA Club Hostess  this month.  I used a Whisper white envelope from SU! #100730  sealed shut and then  cut 2" off the  top  and then I used my Crimper # 101618 to crimp   the  bottom  section . Inside  I added 4 mini note cards  with envelopes  which you  can see those  in the  2nd photo .  I have  a older video on this envelope  which  you  can view HERE if you like .

I used the Sale-a-bration  Delicate dots designer paper# 114674  and the  polka dot punches stamp set # 113788  which you  can get  both of these items  out of the Sale-a-bration mini for FREE  check that out HERE

  OH my goodness we are down to 3 days until my sweet Hubby  comes home .. Boy  there is  alot to  do.I am trying to  get  ahead on my  stamping  and videos  so when he is home  I  won't be  doing  that so much, Then there is  cleaning the house YIKES!! OK lets change the subject :)

Jessie Started  Phase II of Drivers Training  6 hours of  class  time . Then when Rich gets home He will take her  to take the driving  test  since I  don't think I can sit in the backseat and keep my mouth shut  for to long . Rich will be much better :)  Plus both of them will love  doing this together  Ya know just one of those milestones is Her life  he won't miss out on  :)

This past Friday Jessie  and the group of other young ladies at her school she sings with  took 3rd  place at MACS  Fine Arts ( Michigan Association of Christian schools) Her and Sarah even had a  short solo  for one of the 3 songs her group sang for competition  .

Mom Is  still getting  her wrist back into shape  she  still has PT  twice a week  and is  doing  better every day :) Praise God ! 

Yesterday was Deb's workshop  Here is a photo  of  who the special guest/s were at Deb's  workshop .. 

 Look It's Mr. Crabby Pants Hee! Hee! Just kidding  :)

Candy bar wrappers

Hi Stampers:

 I was contacted by FavCrafts  to make  another video  for them . This time  St Patricks day is the  theme . Click On Over to  FavCrafts  blog HERE to view todays  video. Todays  video is the last of my older  camera  videos . I thought of re making it  with my new  camera But I think the video viewing is ok . All my videos  from today forward will be using my new camera For much better  viewing.

 Supplies you  will need  are :

 6"x6" piece of designer paper

( I am using  Rainbow Serbert #112471) 

Whisper white card stock# 100730

  cut at  1 1/2" X 7 1/2"

and another piece cut at 1" X 2"

 Green galore  card stock #101768

cut at 1  1/4" X 2 1/4"

Adhesive ( sticky  strip  or  snail ) 

and a Kit Kar candy bar 1.5 oz

I also used  the Pinch Proof stamp set#115044

with the  1 3/8" circle punch #104401

Scallop circle punch #109043

Fifth Avenue Floral ..

Hi Stampers:

 This stamp set  Fifth Avenue Floral # 113734 is  sooo  pretty. I  wanted to make  some  of the images pop  so I did the crayon resist  technique .

I used the  Baja Breeze#111033 and the  Kiwi Kiss#111835 In colors  along with Black &  Going gray# 103274 classic ink.  I used a sponge # 101610  to add the  color over the  images  and  added  some Dazzling Diamonds # 102023 to finish off my  card .

Card stock  I used  was Whisper white #100730 , Black# 102851 and  Basic Gray#108692

Lucky Me...

Hi Stampers :

St. Patricks  day  is coming  so I am in the mood  for Green ~ I actually never  bought a St Patricks day stamp set before .. ( I know ~Can you believe  that ?) 

Yup  this is the 1st St. Patties Day stamp set I have ever  had in my collection which is called  Pinch Proof # 115o44

I would say Go Green But my Pastor  may be reading  this  and  He is NOT a Green fan ( Spartans )  more of  a Blue ( U of M) Fan...  Well that's a whole other story Hee! Hee!

 Anywho  this card really  says it all HUH?  Luck Me! ....  I got  you. Great card  to give to my  hubby on St. Patricks Day since he will be home then  YAHOO!!  8 days and counting ...

Lots of Green Galore with  Black accents  were used on my  card I even  clear embossed the little  green guy  which is  why he is soo shiney  today :)

Chocolate Stars ...

Hi Stampers :

What  could be  better  than Chocolate? How  about  Chocolate  glitter stars. YUMMYO!   Sorry to say I will have  to keep the details on  my card  today  until my  video  which will be posted very soon .

 I  was  so busy this weekend  playing with my new camera , I got  alittle side tracked with my new toy   & I didn't have  time to  stamp  for  my Monday  blog post  SOOO  I  am posting a sneak peek  to one of my upcoming  videos . 

I try and keep the upcoming  videos  as a surprise  I think it's a little more fun  that way  ~But today I was little short handed  on  something new to share  for you  so  you  will see this card again in the very near future ~ Hope you  don't mind :) 

 The  Chocolate  glitter   is in the  Fine Supernova glitter pack # 114287  This  Chocolate  glitter  totally  Rocks IRL  ....I tried  to take  so many photos  to try and capture the  sparkle  and this one  was the best out of 12 trys  LOL  .  Yesterday  I had a  really  fun day  I  went  and  bought me a Brand new Camera. I am sooo excited  and the  funniest part was My hubby was on the phone with me  making my  purchase & guiding me all the  way  Plus  the  guy at Best Buy gave me a HUGE  discount  for hubby being in Iraq  YAHOO!! 

So in honor  or my new camera  I thought I would  make a quick video  to  let you see  How Clear the  videos are  .
